Hainanese Curry Rice Lot One preserves one of Singapore\'s most beloved comfort foods, bringing this iconic dish that developed during British colonial rule to the Choa Chu Kang community within the convenient Lot One Shoppers\' Mall environment. Created by Hainanese chefs employed by British colonials and wealthy Peranakans, this unique fusion cuisine combines British, Peranakan, and Hainanese influences into steamed white rice smothered with curries and gravy, making it the perfect destination for families seeking authentic local heritage flavors in Singapore\'s dynamic northwest region where history meets culinary tradition.
The comprehensive menu features the essential "four heavenly kings" including Crispy Pork Cutlet adapted from British cuisine, Curry Chicken, Braised Pork Belly, and Braised Cabbage (chap chye) from Peranakan traditions, all served over fluffy white rice finished with creamy curry gravy and dark braising sauce. Each component is prepared using traditional methods that honor the dish\'s multicultural origins, while affordable pricing from .70 to .20 ensures accessibility for all families. The robust curry base coats each grain of rice perfectly, creating a satisfying foundation that complements the tender meats and flavorful vegetables in every serving.
Strategically located within Lot One Shoppers\' Mall, Hainanese Curry Rice offers both dine-in and takeaway services that accommodate busy lifestyles while preserving authentic preparation methods and traditional flavors. The restaurant\'s integration within the mall allows diners to combine their heritage dining experience with shopping and entertainment, while the budget-friendly pricing makes this comfort food accessible for regular enjoyment. Whether seeking the complete four-dish experience, individual curry components, or an introduction to Singapore\'s unique culinary fusion heritage, Hainanese Curry Rice delivers the nostalgic flavors and cultural significance that have made this dish an essential part of Singapore\'s food identity for generations.
My Mountain Everest of Dismay, for this Hainanese Curry Rice Store, to all we choose to eat it’s the curry and stew sauce mixed…
My orders of 3 portion takeaway face its horror!!!
No sauces, plain rice and porkchop with 1 egg.
My god…
Cut Cut Fragrance,
Please refund me my hard earned $22.30 :(

Would agree with a zero star if the option was available. The food looks more pathetic than getting caifan elsewhere. The cabbage is just a small serving - for baby meh? Egg also damn small. The orange gravy shouldn't even be called curry. I see others ordering like caifan style and the serving portion is even worse... Super disappointing this shop should really be closed asap.
The aunties were just chitchatting while serving dinner crowd, i had to wait for them to pause in their convo before i can chip in to say my order and make my payment.
Please just close...

Came here for lunch. Ordered a plate of rice with 1 serving of braised pork (4 slices), 1 serving of cabbage and 1 serving of potatoes. Mushy rice. Expensive. Do not recommend. Paid $6.20 for this meal…

Feels sad for the shop owner, 1.6 stars on Google review and still dishing out a low standard curriless Hainanese curry pork chop? If only they put 90% more curry, and their curry separates Chilli oil and paste, more larger pieces veggies , thicker pork chop instead of 4mm go for 6mm. Paid $5.10 take away. Encik Tan curry chicken pork chop beat this one multiple times. They should close the shop or do a complete review of their food served. Totally different from photo displayed. If can refund I would do so.

had the worst experience here. firstly, the aunty cannot even open her ears, and listen. (i did not say i want the 豆干 at all, then she keep putting it inside, did not even wear proper attire[wearing home clothes] too) next, when i ordered two portions of food, she just gave me a bag of curry (which is pretty little, can be enough for one person who likes more sauce) and said cannot take another packet, for the other packet i bought. one of the worst customer service you can ever get if you buy from here.

Food is decent, price is reasonable if you don’t add on other dish.
They charge 30cents for takeaway in a paper box.
If you dine it, they serve on brown paper. They should use the brown paper to pack the takeaway and stop charging 30cents

Do not visit this stall on the ground floor because they dare to serve undercooked rice to customers. Overall, I have never seen such poor standards. They are under the EAT group, operating as Hainan Scissors Curry Rice. Please be cautious when ordering takeout.
If possible, they don't even deserve a star

Ran out of egg so made me choose ala carte. I should have walked away as its $5 for a pork chop n long bean.
Rice just cook and mushy n taste bad like not cooked at all. See the photos.

Even though I did review on Fei Seong this rice dishes stall is expensive, they don’t bother n dont changed; the elderly lady attitude is bad too n charge much higher than others, portion became smaller too! 22/4/24 brocooli $1.50, sardine $1.50, taukwa $1.00 ;outside 1 whole pce fried tau Kwa or lor, only $0.80), long bean eggs $1.50, the photo meal cost $5.50! Dishes are cold too👎🏻 Terribly expensive !! The food here is getting expensive. Did you see chicken drumstick in this box? I never order chicken drumstick but was charged S$3 for the fried chicken bits. See attached.

Really buy at ur own risk. The so called braised pork is so poorly cook its meat n skin is tough and the fat is so dense. The eggplant skin is tough and inside is so gooey. The uncooked bitter gourd cannot be eaten. I returned plate to cashier. Will never visit this stall. Been buying from them but quality has dropped. The price is $6.20 for 1 pce of braised pork, 1 serving of egg plant and 1 serving of bitter gourd with mushy rice. Will not mind the price if food is eatable.

This store has the worst business model ever. Never eat from here. Was told by the sever that their supplier has not given them the eggs so they currently don’t have any eggs hence they can only sell ala cart and cannot change the egg in the set to something else. Now is not i don’t want the egg but is you don’t have the egg. So the set is $4.80 but ala cart without egg is 4.70 which is ridiculous. This store deserves 0 star but i don’t have the choice no wonder it’s 1.5* on google.

Wow. I thought I might have been the only one who felt that this was the worst Hainanese curry rice I have ever eaten. Boy am I wrong. Please don’t waste money 😭
They put too much water in the rice so it became cakey and when I ate it, it felt like I was eating kueh.
The pork chop was so dry but not the worst ingredient in this packet.
I added lady fingers and they were ok! Soft and seasoned well. But the rice is a huge turn off 😩

Lousy. Really need check reviews even for normal stall that has people buying.
The alacarte rice was so expensive! The portion is small compared to the charges. The pork chop rice also no taste, very different from the other brand. Bad experience.

DO NOT EVER BUY ALA CARTE FROM THIS STALL because tell me how on earth this was $9. braised pork $3.50 (1 pc only), fried chicken $3, broccoli $1.50, rice $0.70, takeaway $0.30.
much better off buying their set meals, like the pork chop one priced at $4.90. but then again, their set meals options are limited which compels you to buying ala carte instead. or, if they run out of a certain item in the set meal, they will say they cannot sell the set anymore and must sell via ala carte, and cannot exchange eg fried sunny side up with another kind of fried egg. what kind of logic is this?
take note! first time buyers don't be conned! i thought i was the only one getting grumpy about this stall until i was alerted to this whole flak of lousy reviews here!
