Food court looks nicely decorated and new. It even has a centralised area to take halal/non-halal cutlery instead of from individual stalls. Pepper lunch always tastes good, so there was quite a queue. I'm satisfied with my chicken pepper rice dinner. The salted baked chicken rice was ordinary, though. The only bad thing is no one seemed to be cleaning the tables.

Jan 2025: 5 stars for the carrot cake store. Only a few stores live up to Food Junction's overall rating, lol. The rest are kinda trash. Carrot cake is still delicious as ever. Best in the northwest area that's close to me, in my opinion. I think they changed hands a couple of times. Now it's tended to by nice, friendly Malays. They marinate the carrot cake in sesame oil, which gives it more flavor. The salmon from the Korean bento store is pathetic. It cost me $10.90 for the beef salmon combo. Not going to order again. :( Last order is at 9 PM. After that, all the stalls are closed. ___________ 24 March 2023 update: The cook and cashier for the carrot cake stall changed. The cook is a younger man now; it used to be an elderly uncle. The cashier is not as friendly. Carrot cake tastes kinda different. The quantity for $5.50 is still good. __________ 1 Jan 2023 Update: 5 stars for the carrot cake store. The cashier is friendly; she recommended to put a bit of chilli for taste, although I usually don't take chilli. A small $5.50 portion was a bit small for the price. The $6.80 portion is a lot. The fish soup store #02: Grouper fish soup is super nice, too. It comes with 8 pieces of big, fresh, meaty fish. I requested meesua, and the uncle joked that it's my birthday, haha. Saba fish from the Japanese store isn't nice. :<

This review is only based on the JJ Japanese store. I got the teriyaki chicken rice set. The portion was like a kids meal :') The difference between the photo and actual portion was striking. Anyway, isn't Japanese teriyaki chicken supposed to be grilled, not deep-fried? The chicken didn't have much taste, and the rice had zero taste (it didn't taste like Japanese rice, nor did it taste like normal rice. It just tasted like nothing, HAHAH – that's the best way I can describe it). The saving grace was the miso soup, which had some flavour. Maybe their other items would be better. But otherwise, if you want similar items, I recommend getting them from the Korean stall instead, as their portions looked bigger and seemed tastier as well (my family bought from their stall). The price is slightly higher, but at least your food won't taste like nothing. 👨🏻‍🦯 Previous reviews for this stall were bad, but I felt like having Japanese food, so I got it anyway. Don't make the same mistake as me.

It was crowded at around 11:30 am, but there are still seats available. Or you can share a table with other diners.

When I was here, I had the Yong Tau Foo, which I would say had pretty good flavor. However, it seemed rather expensive at $1 per ingredient (I can't justify $1 for a single mushroom or some strands of vegetables). The ladies were also quite rude, and they could be nicer to the customers. The kopi C peng also lacked "oomph" and it felt very watered down, even though I did not ask for it to be thinned out. The cutlery and crockery were also rather confusing and not well stocked. However, there wasn't much else to complain about; it was a pretty standard experience in a heartland mall.

Food Junction food court in CCK Lot One shopping mall. Food here is so-so and expensive, but there's no choice as there aren't many eating places near CCK MRT/LRT station. On weekdays after 2 PM, this place is still very crowded, and it's not easy to find a seat for dining in. This Monday afternoon was no different; the food court was still packed after 2 PM. I saw three joined tables with outside food (refer to picture); the aunties (food court workers) said all were occupied. Customers had to walk away and try to find another seat, but all were packed. I just felt bad for the customers who walked away, and I'm not sure if food court workers should eat their lunch in their office or if they should occupy food court seats when it is packed with customers.

Old Street style, like Singapore in the '60s and '70s. Nice atmosphere. There are a few corners for taking photos.

I honestly don't do Google reviews, but this is ridiculous. On Thursday, July 24th, 2025, I visited the food junction at Lot One for dinner. I had a great pepper lunch and a coffee from the drink stall. Then I decided to get some dessert. So I went to the dessert stall and ordered a Mango Ice Cream dessert, requesting extra ice. I paid at the cashier before waiting for my order to be made. In front of me was an elderly lady (the "Lady") who ordered Ice Jelly with Mango. The Auntie making the dessert then put milk in the ice with the mango topping. The Lady did not want milk in her dessert and emphasized this many times after seeing the Auntie add the milk. Instead of apologizing or showing any remorse, the Auntie rebutted and insisted that the Lady had not informed her not to add the milk. After a few exchanges, the Auntie set aside the half-made dessert and proceeded to remake the order. When it was my turn, the Auntie made the ice base, but instead of preparing the order as usual, she SCOOPED out the mango and ice from the previous half-made bowl and put them into my dessert bowl. When I voiced my concerns, the Auntie ignored me many times until I raised my voice and she finally looked at me. At this point, she had already placed the ice cream on the dessert. Instead of asking what was wrong, she asked expectantly, "Do you still want the extra ice?" I then complained about her using leftover toppings from a used bowl for my dessert. At which, the Auntie gave excuses, claiming, "No lah, where got? I'm just taking the spoon," and, "No lah, I take from this bucket (of stored mango)." I pointed out that I saw her take the toppings from that rejected bowl and put them into my bowl. She ignored me and asked the uncle who was next in line if he wanted the bowl of dessert, which he gladly accepted. So I stood aside, expecting her to remake my dessert, which I had already paid for. Instead, she proceeded to ignore me and continued to serve the next five customers, even taking the order of a customer when she was "done" making the dessert orders. That was when I had enough and asked outright, "Auntie, you don't want to make my order, ah?" At this point, she grudgingly looked at me and asked what dessert I had ordered. She then made me a measly little bowl of dessert (mind you, it costs $3.60 when it normally costs $3.20 or less at a kopitiam), with the ice not even touching the rim of the bowl. The spoon was literally the normal takeaway spoon. If it looks big in the photo, what does that say about the expensive dessert? I am appalled by the grossness of this service, attitude, and overall quality of this stall, but more specifically, by this Auntie. Since they had already remade the bowl for the previous lady, what makes them think they have a right to reuse food that was left aside? I expect a reply to this comment, because how can you just let this kind of disgusting behavior slide?

Tried A-PO Hokkien Mee at Lot One’s Food Junction – Sadly, a Miss for Me Spotted a queue at A-PO Hokkien Mee while at Lot One and decided to join in, hoping to find a hidden gem. The stall’s name and visuals promised a comforting plate of classic Hokkien Mee. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The noodles were bland, the broth lacked depth, and there was no signature wok hei or fragrance that usually makes this dish shine. While the prawns and ingredients were fresh, the overall taste was underwhelming and felt like it missed the soul of a good Hokkien Mee. For those who love bold, savoury, umami-rich Hokkien Mee – this might not hit the mark. I'll be exploring other options next time. I'm open to recommendations if you know a spot nearby that does it right!

One of the best Kueh Chap in CCK. Reasonably priced and with good portions. The pig innards and skin are tender and flavourful. Complement it with their chili to add more kick. The yam rice is a bit dry and lacking yam flavour. Nevertheless, it is still highly recommended.
