Here are a few options, choose the one that best fits the desired tone:
**Option 1 (Slightly more formal):**
"Ordered the toast, but the staff forgot about it. Waited a while. There were so many staff members, but no one bothered; they were just chit-chatting away."
**Option 2 (Closer to original brevity):**
"Ordered the toast, but the staff forgot about it. Waited a while. So many staff, yet no one bothered. They were just chit-chatting away."
**Option 3 (Very minimal changes):**
"Ordered the toast, but the staff forgot about it. Waited a while. So many staff, but no one bothered. They were just chit-chatting away."
I recommend **Option 3** as it makes the most minimal necessary changes while fixing the grammar and improving readability.
**Reasoning for changes in Option 3:**
* "forgotten" changed to "forgot" (correct past tense).
* Added a comma before "but" for better flow when connecting clauses.
* "awhile" is correct, but "a while" is sometimes preferred when used after "waited." Both are acceptable. I kept "awhile" for minimal change.
* "no one bother" changed to "no one bothered" (correct past tense).
* "Chit chatting away" was a fragment; made it a complete sentence ("They were just chit-chatting away") and clarified who was doing the chit-chatting.
* Replaced ".." with periods for standard punctuation.

I love the siew mai. It's really very good and can be addictive. The curry chicken with bread is good too.
The staff working the cashier and making coffee/tea are usually very friendly.

Every Sunday, my wife and I patronise Toast Box at Choa Chu Kang Food Function for coffee and cake after our meal. For quite some time, the taste of the coffee here has been very inconsistent. Today, it got from bad to worse, and our coffees tasted like plain water. Unlike at Toast Box Jurong Point, we usually have our coffee and cake there on almost every Saturday afternoon, and the coffee is always fantastic.

The tables are never clean, yet the staff seems quite free. They were not really friendly when I requested to change the coffee, as they gave the wrong one. They even blamed me for not telling her the correct order.
The toast was thick and hard. Otak otak with cheese is a rather weird combination and a bit spicy. Price is average. Nothing special here.

It had been a while since I visited Lot 1! Happy to bump into Fun Toast at this mall!
Food: Tasty, and the bread is so nice.
Drinks: I have to give them credit here, as I found their control over sugar levels is very good! It won't give you the "heavy & guilty" feeling after you finish the drinks.
The only downside is the space is rather small.

Curry chicken with soft bun ($6.80) was delightful. The bun was toasted, so it tasted like a baguette, a good pair for the curry. The 4 chicken wings were just right — if only there were more curry gravy!
I would be back again to try other items on the menu.
Note: Opening hours begin at 9:30 AM (I wished it was earlier so I could have breakfast), contrary to what's on Google.

Very slow service. Three ladies were at the front counter: one cashier, one kopi maker, and one toasting the bread. Everyone else could see the three of them were confused about what to do next and who each order was for. Hence, a lot of time was wasted. An auntie customer could not stand looking at their slow service and even left the queue.

I went for takeaway coffee at 1:30 PM on 29/12/24. My black coffee was not covered properly. Furthermore, the male staff member who made the beverages was rude when I asked him where the soft-boiled eggs I ordered were. He rudely held up the plastic bag and said, ‘Here, here!’ His voice was as loud as the aunty who reluctantly called out to customers when the food she prepared was ready. This is not a nice place for takeaway, and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

Disappointed with Service at Fun Toast
I visited your Lot One outlet and requested otah toast without cheese, but the cashier told me it wasn’t possible as the toast was “pre-prepared.” When I asked if it was because the toast was frozen and not freshly made, she simply said “no” — without any further explanation or assistance.
Her dismissive tone and body language gave the impression that she was unhappy to be working, and she made no effort to help or clarify our request. We felt brushed off.
To make it worse, when we received the food (see attached photo), it was obvious that cheese could easily have been left out. This shows either poor training or unwillingness to accommodate simple and reasonable requests.
We’re regular customers and this experience was very disappointing. I hope Fun Toast will seriously review staff training on both customer service and basic flexibility, especially when it comes to dietary preferences.

This place used to be amazing when it first opened, and the staff used to be friendly and obliging. Now there are new faces and the quality of food has dropped drastically! The bread was all extremely thin, and not even toasted properly. It wasn’t even hot at all and the butter was still solid, completely unmelted. The bread used was the last miserly slice of the loaf, and not even a complete slice. Soft buns were not even soft, and all the breads were nowhere near what was shown in the menu! The portion sizes were very small, which was very disappointing. The staff should also advise patrons who are alone not to take up an entire booth seat.
