The Choa Chu Kang Library is very spacious, especially upon entering. Walking around the fiction shelves, you’ll notice a seating area with six chairs around a round table. It’s a good spot to work on computers, study, or read. Beyond that, walk towards the window, and you’ll find a long table connected to the wall, where multiple people can sit. This is an excellent spot for reading, studying, and working on computers. The window view is also pleasant, though it depends on your seating position. There is a specific Malay section of books. It features three small, curved alcoves, each accommodating about four to five people. A bit farther, you'll find the teen books section, requiring a few steps down, but it's a very appealing section. Past the teen section, stairs lead upwards. Ascending them, you'll reach the children's section. First, you’ll encounter the family and parenting section; then, to the right, the children's books. Overall, the Choa Chu Kang Library is pleasant and spacious, with a good selection of diverse books. It offers pleasant seating areas and is an ideal place to read, study, and work on computers.

I am writing to express my concern regarding an experience I had at your library recently. I was asked by a librarian to leave Level 5 because I was not accompanied by a child. However, I did not see any clear signage stating that adults without children are not allowed in that area. I also noticed other adults present, which made the situation feel inconsistent and unfair. I fully respect the need for safety and appropriate use of designated spaces, especially those intended for children. However, I believe that any such restrictions should be clearly communicated with visible signage and enforced consistently. I would appreciate clarification on the policy regarding adult access to Level 5, and whether the rules are applied uniformly. I hope the library will consider clearer communication in the future to avoid misunderstandings like this.

Recently visited this library after several years of absence and was thoroughly impressed! The library was clean, quiet, and calm, providing a peaceful atmosphere perfect for studying and learning. The modern and well-renovated facilities made it a joy to explore. What struck me most was the number of knowledge-seeking individuals who filled the space, all engaged in quiet contemplation or submerged in their books. The vast collection of books and resources was truly remarkable, and I was pleased to see that the Reservation Lockers and Book Return systems have up-to-date touchscreen interfaces. Overall, I highly recommend it as a haven for anyone seeking knowledge, inspiration, or simply a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I would like to share an incident that occurred during my recent visit to the library on May 16, 2025, at 14:45. I was alone and had just sat down at Level 5 to read a library book when a librarian approached me. She asked if I was waiting for someone, and when I said no, she told me I had to go to Level 4 to read, as Level 5 was the children’s section. I was taken aback, as I was quietly reading in a public space and did not see any clear signage that adults were not allowed. I explained to her that Level 4 was quite crowded and that I simply wanted a peaceful spot to read. However, she continued to ask me to leave, which disrupted the very peace I was seeking. I noticed afterward that there were several secondary school students walking around Level 5, which made me question why I was asked to leave while they were allowed to remain. While I understand that there may be policies in place regarding adult presence in children’s areas, I feel the approach and inconsistency in enforcement were disappointing. The interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unfairly treated. I hope the library can clarify this policy and ensure that it is communicated clearly and respectfully to all patrons.

Pleased with my visit here and how clean, modern, and spacious the library is. Plenty of seating areas, and even a Level 5 kids' area to entertain the kids. Great selection of books and a wide assortment of seats to accommodate many people. I also liked that borrowing a book via the NLB app was such a breeze!
