Here's the lightly edited review: The Rendang Chicken Toast Sandwich ($4.80 à la carte) was very delicious. Service is good. There is a long queue, especially during breakfast hours. It is expensive.

It's a very weird store policy that requires ordering first before getting a seat (and since I was alone, 'everyone' was already present). The woman who chased me out was also very rude in her clarification. So I queued to order, and when it was my turn, the cashier said that the store was full and I would have to wait to get a seat. I asked her how long the wait would be, and she said she was unsure — sometimes it's fast and sometimes it takes very long. I was super hungry already, and they really didn't bother to help the customer. Terrible queue management coupled with poor customer service. I love Ya Kun, but it's unfortunate that this outlet has a bad store policy and staff with poor attitudes. Update: I went to the Jem outlet, and their store policy made so much more sense: FIND A SEAT FIRST THEN ORDER (I also got a double egg yolk here, so my story ended semi-happy.)

Bad Service – Order Totally Messed Up I had a really disappointing experience at this shop today (5 May 2025 at 4:13 PM). I ordered kopi o kosong peng and repeated my order twice, but the staff kept repeating teh o kosong peng. These are completely different drinks, both in words and pronunciation. I even clarified a third time, slowly and clearly: kopi o kosong peng. She confirmed with an “ok.” However, when the drink arrived, it was still teh o kosong peng. When I questioned her, she got defensive and insisted she had mentioned teh o kosong peng earlier—as if it was my mistake. I didn’t want to argue, so I just accepted the drink. Honestly, this kind of service is unacceptable. Basic listening skills are crucial, especially in F&B. I hope the management takes note of this issue and works on improving staff training and attitude.

Getting less nowadays. Ordered a big takeaway cup, and it was almost 1 inch below the brim…:(

Arrived at 9 am. The carpark had plenty of spaces, allowing me to choose and park right next to the travellator, which led directly up to Ya Kun. Food and drinks were decent. I only ordered eggs and tea, typical of what one would expect from Ya Kun. The warm eggs were served pre-cracked and shelled, which is a welcome added service for patrons. Teh O Siew Dai was also served as requested. I loved the morning crowd that didn't make the place feel too crowded, with small groups of elders chatting and some working adults having a quick bite before presumably heading to work.

Decent traditional toast and coffee. The taste is no different from many of their other outlets. However, this particular outlet is quite small and near the exit of the mall, so it can get a little warm. It was quite understaffed during my visit, and there was also a long queue. Overall, 3 stars. I would still come here for coffee.

Came here during breakfast, and got the food within 5 minutes after ordering. The kaya toast with butter was perfect, the soft egg was done well, and the tea drink was just my preference. Of the many outlets I've visited, this one served particularly well.

This is my regular spot for a kopi break—a perfect place to relax, read, and plan before and after my Taekwon-Do lessons. I really enjoy the service and the drinks here. It's a great environment to take a breather and stay focused!

Standard is consistently good for toasts, eggs, and drinks. Kopi c kosong and teh c kosong are always on point and thick. They wake me up instantly and chase my headaches away. All I hope is that prices remain the same for a long long time.

This is my first time ever leaving a review to express my distaste for the service I received. I bought 8 pieces of kaya toast to go. Of the 8 toasts I received, 6 of them did not have a single piece of butter on them at all. Absolutely infuriating! The cashier even confirmed with me, "with butter, ah?" to which I obviously said yes multiple times: "yes, with butter." The highlight of every kaya toast is literally the butter. Six of them missing without even informing me is just ridiculous. I understand if you ran out of butter, but since they knew I was a takeaway customer, they just decided not to bother informing me. Instead, they chose to keep quiet and pray the customer wouldn't know. Guess what? I know. It did not help that I was already having a bad day, and it was my first time in a year I had wanted to visit Ya Kun for some comfort food to cheer me up and feel better. Instead, my night was ruined. Huge mistake coming back after not having this delicious Singaporean staple for a whole year at this outlet. The service provided by the team here was just unfathomable. As feedback to the person in charge, please, at least have the decency to inform me if any changes were to be made. Thanks for nothing.
