had a wonderful facial treatment experience with Yvonne Choo at Shakura. She is genuinely herself and makes you feel completely at ease throughout the session. I really appreciate that she never pressured me into anything, and instead focused on giving honest advice that suited my needs. Her friendly and down-to-earth attitude made the whole experience so comfortable and enjoyable. I visited Shakura for the trial facial session and while the treatment itself was decent, I found the experience to be quite uncomfortable due to the persistent hard-selling of their packages. The treatment was nice. My skin felt refreshed, and the therapist had good hands.
Even after expressing that I wanted to try the service first and not wanting to commit to anything long-term, I was repeatedly pressured to sign up for a package (before and after the facial). It took away from the relaxation I was hoping for. I understand that businesses need to promote their services, but there’s a fine line between informing and pressuring.
I hope the management can work on creating a more comfortable environment where customers don’t feel obligated or guilt-tripped into making purchases. A more customer-focused approach would go a long way in encouraging repeat visits.
Great potential, just ease up on the sales talk and you’ll have people coming back on their own.

Just had one of the best facial treatments I’ve experienced in a long time! From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed and cared for. The space was serene and spotless, with soft music and calming scents. My therapist, Yvonne explained each step and tailored the treatment to my skin’s needs. "I have been with Shakura for more than 5 years, and I must say, I am increasingly disappointed. Not only do they hard sell you to renew your package each time, but the services also get progressively worse, especially if you provide less-than-positive feedback on their app after a treatment. I used to have a fixed senior therapist as a regular client, but over time, they started swapping therapists out for newer ones without informing me, so I always get different therapists. The more I went, the more lacklustre the service became, especially the shoulder massage, which was barely even a massage, and the extraction. Most of the treatment just seemed rushed. Once they get you to sign after hard selling, they don’t really care about you anymore."

I will never go back again! I went for a trial session and was pressured into signing a huge package of about 50 sessions, due to their aggressive hard-selling tactics. Finally, I managed to finish the package!
They serve you very well during the trial. However, once they've hard-sold you and you've signed up with them, they will not care about you anymore.
I do not like their overall services. The front desk staff were not able to tell me how many sessions were left for my package; only a consultant would know. I still needed a consultant to get back to me. Does this mean they want to hard-sell me into signing another package again? I won't sign up again after that first foolish decision.
In terms of the facial sessions, they are super lousy. The shoulder massage is just 5 minutes, and they just go through the motions. Extractions are rushed and not thorough at all. I still have to extract myself after the facial. They book their customers too closely together, resulting in low attention, as they attend to other customers simultaneously.
They cancel appointments when a beautician has other commitments. They do not have a backup beautician to serve you on your appointment day, even when you've already pushed away other appointments to go for your facial.
Most importantly, I never saw any improvement in my face after so many sessions with them.
